The European Union (EU) wanted to be positioned as Africa’s preferred partner, so we launched ‘We See Africa’, a 360-campaign to emotionally connect young African citizens to the European Union and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
We spotlighted key local stories, with actual citizens highlighting the local impact of the EU on the people as a result of the partnership. The result was a new space where young Africans can take pride in being part of the conversation.
We recorded positive sentiments in all media coverage and millions of impressions across social media. Overall, there was a 20% spike in awareness. The Côte d’Ivoire campaign won 3 Pitcher Awards and at measurement delivered the best results among the 8 countries in the EU that implemented the campaign.
